Jeffrey Guy, MD, Christopher Mazoue, MD, and Ramon Ylanan, MD, all were speakers at the Update in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine 2009 Conference held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center on December 5, 2009. The Update in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Conference is an annual meeting that draws Athletic Trainers, Physicians, Physical Therapists, Nurses, and other allied medical health professions, as well as, Coaches and Athletic Directors. This event is sponsored by The University of South Carolina School of Medicine – Palmetto Health Richland Continuing Medical Education Organization in conjunction with the USC Sports Medicine Center and Moore Orthopaedics. Dr. Mazoue was Chairperson of the event and started the day with a presentation on Injuries to the Throwing Shoulder. Dr. Ylanan spoke on Current Evaluation and Treatment of Concussion Injuries, and Dr. Mazoue rounded out the USC Sports Medicine contingent with his talk on Hip Pain In A 20 Year Old Ballet Dancer.
All three physicians are part of the USC Sports Medicine Center. Dr. Guy and Dr. Mazoue are team orthopaedic surgeons for the University of South Carolina, and Dr. Ylanan provides primary care coverage of University of South Carolina Athletics.
