About the Center

Located in Two Medical Park, next to Palmetto Health Richland, and with another location at St. Julian Place in Forest Acres, USC Sports Medicine allows patients the ability for all services to be performed within the confines of our office or Palmetto Health Richland.

USC Sports Medicine Center physicians use a multi-disciplinary approach to sports medicine that is unlike any center in the state. Our Columbia based center provides easy access to a combination of sports medicine fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons, primary care sports medicine physicians, and certified athletic trainers. Our staff is dedicated to providing high quality and comprehensive care to the active patient whether a weekend warrior or the elite level athlete.

We provide a wide range or orthopedic services. Our services include general and pediatric orthopedics, arthritis care, and management of bone and joint injuries, including fracture care. Our physicians also treat diseases of the bone, including osteoporosis, and perform hand surgery. We provide skilled expertise to patients with traumatic and arthritic hand problems and those requiring hip and knee replacement surgery.

The USC Sports Medicine Center serves the specialized health care needs of athletes at all levels of competition, as well as providing diagnostic, treatment, and preventive services to anyone involved in sports or recreation.

With practicing physicians who also teach at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, USC Sports Medicine Center represents a partnership between academic medicine, community hospitals, health care organizations and private clinicians.

On January 30, 2012, the University of South Carolina Department of Orthopaedic Surgery opened a new state-of-the-art Sports Medicine Center at Two Medical Park, Suite 104.  The 3,000 square foor center features seven exam rooms, a casting room, a concussion testing room, consultation area, and fully digital x-rays.  Sports medicine physicians Jeffrey Guy, MD, Christopher Mazoue, MD, Matthew Pollack, MD, and Jeff Holloway, MD, provide comprehensive care for local patients and athletes at the new Sports Medicine Center.

We strive to help you achieve your athletic training goals or speed you toward recovery as quickly as possible and as safely as possible.
